Pastor Chilly brought the word today (listen to it, its on the right side of my blog) He talked about the life of Elijah after he had done a great miracle in front of all the Baal believers. It was such a good word.
Then after the word I had a meeting with the Compassion Team @ Buca di Beppo. I talked with these group of Christians who had been charged by the Holy Spirit to be more involved in the kingdom of God and shared with them with what God had been stirring in my heart. From the book of Acts came the mission of this ministry, I talked about the goals. We broke bread, ate some calamari and some pasta. And then we began to share ideas and strategies for this ministry.
Today in downtown Detroit we had a really cool staff meeting, no it wasnt your fancy meeting going through business for the next year. Rather we sat down as men and ladies, as leaders of this church and place God has called us to and first prayed together. We then dived into God’s word into the book of Joshua and heard our leader pastor Chilly break it down for us and what God had been speaking to him about this. It is really cool because chapter four of Joshua focuses on him taking the whole nation of Israel into new land, Canaan, it is literally God’s covenant continually being fulfilled except this time through Joshua. And as REAL Church gets into a 2008 new land is on the horizon but it is the same covenant God laid onto the heart of our leader Chilly; to take the city of Hamtramck. We as a staff laid our stones from the Jordan River and continued on towards the new for the upcoming year.
