Prayer…

August 22, 2008 Leave a comment

Some thoughts that are running around my head in this moment.

Psalm 27:2

“The Lord is the Stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid.”

Even in this crazy moment and time of my life God is keeping everything together. He is the one that makes sense in this life.

One more thought:

He breaks the power of cancelled sin
He sets the prisoners free
His blood can make the foulest clean
His blood availed for me

- David Crowder “O For A Thousand Tongues”

I ask of your prayer, I am not being vauge just to be vague, but soon all will be told.

I need God’s wisdom, grace, vision and patience.

Whenever you can lift me up… Thanks!

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
and renew a steadfast spirit within me. –
Psalm 51:10

We sing the song all the time, create in me a clean heart but God revealed to me in this psalm the importance of the other line and word steadfast.

David wrote this psalm after he had gotten busted by Nathaniel, he writes this psalm in repentance, jotting his thoughts down in prayer as he seeks God’s mercy. And so God’s revelation to me

1) God needs to create a pure heart within side of us.

Obviously we love it when God does the work for us, anything He puts His hand on it succeeds. And also the factor of us being lazy humans…

2) Steadfast

David recognized that it was also his part to be pure. He asked to be asked for steadfastness not because he just wanted to add another line, but recognized much like the covenants of old he had a part to do this act of holiness. But he wanted God’s blessing, he wanted to be immovable from the presence of God and determined not to give into flesh.

I sing create in me a clean heart but I am steadfast too?

Kingdom Work

Man it is such an awesome opportunity to be able to be a part of God’s work. Able to be a part of God’s power in changing lives. Many people go through their whole lives wanting to be a part of this, this revolution, this concept that God’s love is REAL. I believe that God’s pure gift of love can change people’s lives, and it has! I hung out with this guy named Kevin here at REAL Church, man God’s love has changed him. He came into this building pursuing worldly love, instead he found the REAL love of Christ. This love that is so amazing, pure with no strings attached. Now he comes to church twice a week not to just hear the word, but also to be a part of the Kingdom work that is happening here in this city, this place we call Hamtramck. God’s love is REAL. Be a part of the Kingdom work that is happening everyday in this city!

Yuck these are some nasty pictures of teeth, makes me want to brush my teeth. Anyways last night I had a cool moment as I was praying… I was brushing my teeth and flossing and had a pretty cool revelation. This is kind of wierd to confess but have you guys ever smelt the plaque from your teeth? It smells like butt doesnt it? Well God pointed that out to me in my life, “Your sin smells like that to me.” “And I have to go deep in like a floss in between areas in your inner soul to clean you out.”

THANK YOU GOD!

Man I need a deep floss within my soul, God cleanse me of every “spiritual plaque” in my life so that my inside doesnt end up like the pictures shown. Clean me up God… may I be a pleasing smell to you!

Wanted to give some big ups to my pastor: Chilly Chilton

Dude I have learned so much from my pastor over the years, he is so funny, cool and a straight up honest man of God. I am so thankful for this opportunity I have to serve under him in this place we call Hamtramck or the center of the universe. I am so blessed to be able to learn from him now and all the others lessons that I have learned from him in the past. It is unbelievable how much wisdom he has and you can talk to him about any topic from sports to the Holy Spirit and he will profound you with how much information he has. I have had the blessed opportunity to see how REAL he is not just on Sundays but day in and day out. Man he teaches me so much from daily life to prayer. Words cant express how much he has taught me and how much he has prayed for me and loved me and had patience for me. I wanted to give some “e-props”. Dude no one has a better pastor than mine.

And I am definitely thankful for it too.
