Tennis.
Me and my friend Brendan were out playing tennis the other day. Now I am no Andy Roddick, I suck at tennis and know exactly how difficult it is to field your side of the court and try to hit the tennis ball.
But we screwed around for a bit, and ended up playing a game for reals. Now I am hooked to tennis.
But here comes the spiritual metaphor.
In the beginning when we first started playing I would just think that the ball would come to me. Oh how I was wrong, I needed to anticipate and move towards where I thought it was. And that my friends is where the exercise and fun came from this game. As we continued to play I realized that I needed to get loose move around and go and hit the ball.
Should I not be loose and ready for God’s serve to me for the everyday life?
As I go about the day should I not constantly move towards what God wants to do that day. Should I not be loose and ready to anticipate where God is going to hit?
I want to be there. I want to know what God is doing everyday.
