Burning Heart.

And they said one to another, Was not our heart burning within us, while he spake to us in the way, while he opened to us the scriptures? -the gospel of Luke.

As I move on from the heavy heart, God is now leading me to a burning heart.

We see here as the disciples go back on the road from a crazy day full of events, Jesus shows up and begins to speak scripture in to their lives. They at first do not recognize Jesus to be this mysterious man that shows up and speaks scripture and tells them why these chain of events have happened, and how these events had been prophesied in old testament.

So from a heavy heart where God’s presence feels so far away, the burning heart God feels so intimate. God speaks clearly into my life and just as Jesus opened up scripture to their lives. He opens up scripture in my life and shows himself to me. With the burning heart HE burns away all the nasty things developed during the time of the heavy so that it is completely clean once again.
