Information.

June 20, 2009 1 comment

Information: knowledge gained through study, communication, research, instruction.

Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young. – Henry Ford

Knowledge is Power - Sir Francis Bacon

The essence of knowledge is, having it, to apply it; not having it, to confess your ignorance – Confucious

What are you doing with the information that you know?

Or do you lack information?

I have been recently listening to lots of MPR and am currently watching the CNN report on the election that has happened in Iran Hossein Mousavi lost the election, while Mahmoud Ahmadinejad won the election.

If you look at this site: Iran Election

There are crazy pictures of these people who feel forsaken because their vote didnt come out to anything. With the things that I have heard it seems as if Mr. Mousavi was projected to win. But he didnt, the people feel as if the election was tampered and the wrong person won.

As a result riots both peaceful and violent have broken out throughout the country mainly in the city of Tehran.

And now CNN is reporting that North Korea is threatening to blow up Hawaii with their Nukes… scary!

With both these news clips that only signify little of what is going on to the world. I come to certainty that God is bigger than us, bigger than just being in the United States, that he is in leaders of Iran and North Korea. God is bigger than us and my eyes have been open to this more with these world events.

Suddenly, there is more to do. Whether its praying for God’s will in the country of Iran, the safety of its people. Or the change of heart in the leader of North Korea and the protection of Hawaii. Or even as I recently learned the sex trafficking that happens all around us in the world even here in the US.

What are you ( I ) doing with the information we are aware of?

Discipline.

June 17, 2009 1 comment

Discipline: to bring to a state of order and obedience by training and control.

Self-Discipline: discipline and training of oneself, usually for improvement.

more about “William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet …“, posted with vodpod

“What art thou drawn and talk of peace? Peace I hate the word as I hate HELL, all Montague, and Thee!” - Tybalt from Romeo + Juliet

Much like Tybalt states that he hates the word peace in this scene of Romeo and Juliet. I hate the word “discipline”. Whether this word is related to my spiritual life with prayers, reading the word or prayer.  Disciplining my body such as exercising, making sure my teeth don’t go yellow and taking care of the body. Or even taking care of the emotional aspect of my life, discipline is something that I am not fond of. I am sure every human being can say the same thing yet discipline is so necessary in every aspect of our lives that much like the definition states it improves us as human beings and as a result it cannot be just placed on the side because we do not enjoy it.

“The first and best victory is to conquer self” - the thinking Plato

No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize. – the 1st letter to the Corinthians

Time to live self-disciplined.

Camping.

Some hilarious video of a clip of Sanford and Son camping.

I never watched it when I was a kid, and I still dont to this day. But I found this pretty interesting.

Anyways the reason why I entitled it camping is because my co-workers are planning a trip in the mid-week to go camping with a ton people who work at my Chilis. Sounds like a good time doesnt it?… Not really.

My co-worker party hard and not in a good way. I pray that they dont do stupid things that they will regret for the rest of their lives.

Pray with me will you.

06/11/09.

Yeah it was quite the day here in Michigan. It feels like alot of things were happening around here today.

Event #1. An armored truck makes a deposit onto I-75 a major highway here in Michigan. Heres the link: Armored Truck

Here is some video:

Tried to find the video but it wasnt working sorry. Pretty interesting stuff. As I thought about this the rest of the day I thought of this verse

Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows – the gospel of Luke

Am I wrong to think that God provided people with funds to get through the day with this accident?

Hmmm…

Then the second event of the day was a casting call here in Michigan for the TV show “the Bachelor”. Now I dont watch that show or anything but excited because to see something like this happening in Michigan. Heres the link: Bachelor

Tennis.

June 10, 2009 1 comment

Me and my friend Brendan were out playing tennis the other day. Now I am no Andy Roddick, I suck at tennis and know exactly how difficult it is to field your side of the court and try to hit the tennis ball.

But we screwed around for a bit, and ended up playing a game for reals. Now I am hooked to tennis.

But here comes the spiritual metaphor.

In the beginning when we first started playing I would just think that the ball would come to me. Oh how I was wrong, I needed to anticipate and move towards where I thought it was. And that my friends is where the exercise and fun came from this game. As we continued to play I realized that I needed to get loose move around and go and hit the ball.

Should I not be loose and ready for God’s serve to me for the everyday life?

As I go about the day should I not constantly move towards what God wants to do that day. Should I not be loose and ready to anticipate where God is going to hit?

I want to be there. I want to know what God is doing everyday.
