God’s Rainbow Aroma

Don’t you love it when you read the word and something that you have read many times before there is detail, fact something that just makes you just go… “WOW! I never saw that before.”

Well I had one of those moments as I was reading the story of Noah, there is this point where Noah comes out of the ark. And because he is so excited that God saved his life and his families lives, that he built an altar and sacrificed the clean animals that were on board. This sacrifice pleased God so much that he made a covenant with Noah saying he would never destroy the earth with water.

20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. 21 The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

And here I thought it was because God felt bad (which I am sure HE did), but it was this sacrifice that Noah willingly made. This sacrifice to destroy some of the animal remnants of the earth, to pleased God.

After reading this God asked me:

“What kind of Aroma are you letting out with your life?”

“And is this Aroma moving ME to make crazy covenants with you?”
